We have had some enjoyable meals at Elisabeth's Chalet (Restaurant) in previous years, but our recent experience was so disappointing that next time we have a special occasion we know where not to go! Our reservation was as requested, the welcome on arrival, by an elderly gentleman, (presumably an Owner), was courteous. Service was prompt, but sorely lacked what one would expect at a fine dining restaurant. While the menu was impressive, food, with no hint of flavour, was mediocre at best. Our salads were drowned in sauce as were other menu items, with no offer to request dressing on the side. The famous desert trolley was nowhere in sight, with the waitress assuming us old fogies might be content to avail of her verbal selection. Madam Elisabeth tries too hard to convince patrons that she really is interested in knowing that all is to their liking, but she fails the test of sincerity, or any professional training very off-putting, to say the least! Perhaps it is time the Owners hung up the aprons and relax in their parochial setting, as surprise, surprise, some of us well-travelled folk are no longer impressed with this Cloverdale Chalet. We will not be recommending Elisabeths restaurant to friends, or colleagues. In summary, a restaurant best described as all window and no shop, most disappointing and certainly not worth the $$$$, or even the time it takes to park! ..More Reviews
